The staff at Northland Veterinary Hospital strives to provide the best quality veterinary medical and surgical care for your pet. We combine this with a truly caring attitude. Our friendly knowledgeable staff wants to keep your pet healthy and safe. We serve pets and their owners in the Gouverneur area. Our hospital is set up for both outpatient and hospital care for your pet.
Dr. Monroe is available for appointments Mondays & Fridays, from 9AM until 11AM and 4PM until 7PM; Wednesdays from 9AM until 11AM and 3PM to 5PM. Dr. Monroe also has a satellite office in Star Lake, where we schedule appointments from 6PM until 7PM on Wednesdays. There is no phone at our office in Star Lake. Please call our Gouverneur office to schedule an appointment in Star Lake.
All pet care procedures are scheduled by appointment. For faster service, please call ahead for prescription refills. If you are unable to pick-up your pet's medication, we can mail it to you. Additional fees may apply for postage.
We are closed on weekends, however, a staff member is in the office Saturdays, Sundays and holidays for 1 hour, from 8AM until 9AM, for admissions & discharges, and to assist clients in need of prescription refills. Staff members rotate through our office on weekends to care for hospitalized pets. We provide emergency service for pets that have established a relationship with Dr. Monroe. Our automated answering system will provide you with instructions if you call after normal business hours.

According to law, we are required to have a patient/client/veterinarian relationship in order to dispense prescription medication. This relationship is established and maintained by a once-yearly physical exam by Dr. Monroe. We are not able to fill prescriptions for pets examined or treated by other veterinarians.
A note about fees: We are unable to quote fees for pets that are not patients of our practice. If you would like a quote, please call our office to schedule a physical exam.
Payment is expected in full at the time of service. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Care Credit, and Discover, checks drawn on local banks, or cash.
